Local bus passing the American-styled mall at Altabrisa in Merida (Merida Nuevo). Part of a series of abstract light painting using “found” lights.
The inter-city buses in Mexico are (can be) luxurious, comfortable, & fast. They take the place of trains which hardly exist in Mexico (except for a tourist route in the north). Merida still has freight trains but they are old, lacking maintenance, slow.
However there is a train museum (& art school) in the city in the once-important Station. I pass by but haven’t yet gotten there when it was open.
